Check out the list of nominees for best museum websites and digital initiatives at the website for the Museums and the Web conference happening in Indianapolis, April 15-18. The nominees run the gamut from small to large, highly technical to relatively straightforward. Several are called out for using some of the tools we describe in the Public Humanities Toolbox. We’re really impressed with the Halsey Institute of Contempoary Art’s bright, appealing, and navigable website; as the nomination noted, only two people work there full time and the site relies heavily on YouTube and Flickr. There’s also a whole category of museum podcasts to explore.
